The editorial staff of the Knight of the Immaculate has recently visited the Republic of Belarus twice 🇧🇾
photos from this trip – pilgrimage to the churches of Brest, Grodno and Janów Poleski (ru./bel. Iwanowo).
In the city of Brest, bordering Poland, you will find the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross – with its miraculous image of the Mother of God of Brest – right in the centre.
In Grodno there are 4 Catholic churches in the centre –
1. towering over the city is the huge St Francis Xavier Cathedral with its magnificent interior – a large Altarpiece depicting St Francis Xavier and other Jesuit Saints and many side altars
2. Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross and Bernardine monastery
3. Church of Annunciation of Virgin Mary
4. church of St Mary of the Angels and the Franciscan convent ( 1922 to 1927, Fr. Maximilian Maria Kolbe worked in the Grodno monastery, both in his pastoral work and in the development of publishing activities (editing and printing of the monthly magazine Rycerz Niepokalanej / Knight of the Immaculate/ )
And in Janów Poleski on 16 May 1657 St. Andrew Bobola died a martyr’s death, and in that church of the Elevation of the Holy Cross there are relics of the hand of this Saint, Patron Saint of Poland.
